Heading In

As the sun lowers on the horizon, another beautiful day of sailing in calm waters and gentle breezes comes to an end.

This painting was exhibited at the Members' Exhibition of the Wellesley Society of Artists at the Wellesley Free Library in 2010. It received an Honorable Mention.

  "The various techniques in brushwork (a thickly applied gesso under painting, dry brush, lush dabs) along with the high-key palette give this painting dynamic energy.  the Impressionist manner also lends itself exceptionally well to the timeless visual love for sailing and pleasant harbors.  The candlelight sail's shimmering reflection on the water works to unify the distant treetops' glowing halo."
